marshall tucker band - '73 same

마샬 터커는 south caroliana의 서던락 밴드이다.  Tammy caldwell(bassist and front man) 를 주축으로 그의 형제 toy caldewell(lead guitar) , Doug Gray (vocalist), George McCorkle (rhythm guitarist), Paul Riddle (drummer), Jerry Eubanks (flutist)으로 구성이 되어 있다.

이렇게 초창기 맴버를 구성을 하고 카프리콘에서 첫번째 앨범을 제작을 한다. 그리고 Capricorn Studios에서 녹음이 되었다. 이 앨범에 수록된  Can't You See", "Take the Highway",and "Ramblin'같은곡은 서던락의 클래식이 되어있다.  마샬터커는 최근까지 앨범을 발매를 한 바있고 미국에서는 많은 인기를 누리고 있는 장수그룹이지만  80년대에 밴드의 중추적인 역활을 하였던 리드 기타리트트 toy caldwell이 사고로 운명을 다한 후로는 그 위상이 흔들렸다고 할수 있다.

마샬 터커밴드는 같은 capricorn의 소속사인 서던락밴드 Allman Brothers Band와 비교를 해볼때 컨트리 웨스턴의 느낌이 좀더 강하다고 할수가 있다, 덭붙여 많은 부분에서 플룻,  파이프/ piccolo 같은 관악기 들을 사용하여  런닝 타임이 긴 화려한 연주들을 하고 있다. marshall tucker band의 그룹의 이름은  마샬 터커라는 사람의 그룹같지만 멤버중에 마샬 터커의 이름은 찾아볼수가 없는데, 이것은 그들이 창고에서 연습을 하다가  키홀더에 적힌  마샬 터커라는 이름을 보고 지은것이라고 한다. 그들은 몇개월 후에야 마샬 터커가 그들이 빌린 창고의 건물주인 이름인것을 알았다고 한다.
